UTI test stands for a urinary tract infection test. This test is essential to identify the infections within the urinary tract. The urinary tract generally has two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, and a urethra.
Test Details:
- To identify the infection, the midstream urine sample is collected and sent to the lab for analysis.
- After the analysis, the doctor will suggest the medicine based on which bacteria has caused the infection.
- If the infections are frequent then the doctor suggests Mri scan, ct scan, or Ultrasound Imaging identify further abnormalities.
- If there are any recurrent UTIs then cystoscopy is performed using a cystoscope (a thin long tube with lens). It is inserted in the urethra and passed into the bladder.
